What has happened?
We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train. This has occurred between Widnes and Liverpool South Parkway and is disrupting our trains on Liverpool Lime Street/Nottingham/Norwich route.
Emergency services are on site managing the incident.

How does this affect my train?
Trains running in both directions between Widnes and Liverpool South Parkway can not currently run some of our services will be subject to last minute alterations.
At present we are expecting the line to re-open in the next 5 hours. As soon as the line is open again, our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 17:30.

How do I get where I need to be?
You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by up to 60 minutes. We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.
Where possible our services will be diverted between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street. This will result in our services not being able to call at Widnes, Warrington Central and Liverpool South Parkway in both directions.
We have arranged for your tickets be used with other train operators at no extra cost:
Northern Trains and Transpennine trains via any reasonable route including Leeds to Manchester stations and Leeds to Liverpool Lime Street.
Northern Trains and Cross Country trains between Leeds and Sheffield.
Mersey Rail between Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool Lime Street.
Rail replacement transport has been requested to run between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Piccadilly in both directions calling at Liverpool South Parkway, Warrington Central, Birchwood, Irlam, Urmston and Manchester Oxford Road. Please see station staff for further information.
