Due to a points failure between Reading and Newbury some lines are blocked.

Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled, delayed or diverted between Reading and Taunton. Some stations between Reading and Taunton will not be served. Disruption is expected until 13:15 29/04.

Customer Advice

Apologies to customers, due to a points failure the line from Reading towards Newbury is currently blocked.
This means that:
Services between Newbury and Reading/London in both directions will be suspended
Services from London/Reading towards Taunton and beyond will be diverted not calling at Newbury or Pewsey
Services from Taunton towards Reading/London will continue to run as normal

Pewsey customers: Replacement road transport will operate between Pewsey and Swindon in both directions to enable you to complete your journeys.

Local bus ticket acceptance between Reading and Newbury has been requested but not granted yet.

Reading buses jetBlack 1: Newbury (Wharf), Thatcham (Cropper Close), Midgham, Aldermaston, Theale (The Crown), Reading (Station) are conveying passengers between Reading and Newbury in both directions until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.
