As part of Network Rail's Access for All scheme, Grays station will become fully accessible with the addition of two new lifts which will allow c2c passengers to access both platforms via the existing stepped foot tunnel under the tracks.

The subway is being closed to maintain safety of station users while work is underway to install the two new lifts. Access between Grays station platforms is via the level crossing of stepped footbridge whilst works are taking place.

Planned engineering work will take place between London Fenchurch Street and Barking/Upminster from 20:45, Monday 28 April 2025 to 03:00, Tuesday 29 April 2025, from 20:45, Tuesday 29 April 2025 to 03:00, Wednesday 30 April 2025, from 20:45, Wednesday 30 April 2025 to 03:00, Thursday 01 May 2025, and from 20:45, Thursday 01 May 2025 to 03:00, Friday 02 May 2025.
All services via Ockendon will be terminating at Upminster and restarting from Grays.
All services via Rainham will be diverted to London Liverpool Street. London Fenchurch Street, Limehouse and West Ham High Level will not be served.
Customer Advice:
London Underground District Line and London Underground Jubilee Line services will convey passengers via any reasonable route.
Docklands Light Railway services will convey passengers via any reasonable route.
All services via Basildon will be diverted to London Liverpool Street. West Ham High Level, Limehouse and London Fenchurch Street will not be served.
